EMIT Group

The Environmental Management & Information Technologies (EMIT) group is an educational and research unit in the Department of Natural Resources Development & Agricultural Engineering at the Agricultural University of Athens.

The group focuses on the following aspects:

Environmental Management concentrating on water, atmosphere and soil interfaces involving analysis of multi-facility, multipurpose systems requiring coordinated planning, management, and operations for water supply, hydropower, drought, desertification, flood control, crop water requirements, irrigation, wastewater management, water quality control, conjunctive use of groundwater and surface water and climate change impacts

Information Technologies placing emphasis on application of advanced computer technology, decision support systems, geographic information systems (GIS), CAD, computer control and measurement systems, mathematical programming, and artificial intelligence to natural resources and environmental systems.
